On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we want to take a minute to celebrate the incredibly talented female artists we have the privilege to have worked with. We’re here to tell you all about them and their beautiful music! From trailblazers who shattered glass ceilings to emerging talents who continue to redefine the industry, women have consistently pushed boundaries, challenged norms, and crafted unforgettable sonic landscapes. In this article, we pay homage to the creativity, resilience, and innovation of female artists across genres, acknowledging their invaluable impact on shaping the cultural landscape and inspiring generations to come.

Here’s a list of our favourite female artists from Hoopr:

Surabhi Dashputra – Surabhi is a classically trained singer with powerhouse vocals and a beautiful knack for Indian Classical music. Her song ‘Chunariya’ is a perfect example of her enchanting voice that weaves together Indian Classical and Electronic melodies. 

Rashi Mal – Rashi is a singer, songwriter and actor who released her debut EP called ‘Rashionality Ch.1’. One of the song’s from said EP is a track called ‘Naariyan’ that explores the strength and determination of women. 

Vidya Gopal – Vidya is also a classically trained singer and songwriter. Her melodic voice and impactful lyrics make her songs a special treat for the ears. Her track ‘Ghar Naari’ gives new life to the classic poem by Amir Khusro. 

Aishwarya Anand – When we think of versatility, we think of singers like Aishwariya. She brings an exceptional amount of life and energy to any track, especially classics like ‘Nai Jaana’ and more!

Srijonee Bhattacharjee – Srijonee is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to Indian Classical and Folk music. Her impeccable pitch and elegant tone make it impossible to miss. ‘Ek Rang’ by Srijonee is one of our absolute favourites.
