In March 2023, Hoopr hosted an online contest called Sing To Sync. It was a top-lining competition where independent artists from across the country could choose a Hoopr backing track and write a song on top of it. It gave artists everywhere a chance to not only hone their songwriting skills and showcase their talent but also an opportunity to win a cash prize along with a top-lining contract and the chance to have a music video made for their song.
Sing To Sync was judged by some of the best industry professionals. The panel included musician and CEO of Hoopr, Gaurav Dagaonkar, music producer, Aditya Pushkarna and playback singer Ash King. Hoopr’s Sing To Sync was designed to allow independent artists everywhere to explore their talents with songwriting and give them an opportunity to hone that skill whilst also giving them prizes and contracts that helped further their careers.
Hoopr received hundreds of entries across multiple genres, languages and regions. From hindi and english Pop to desi Hip Hop, there were talented musicians across the board. The winner of Sing To Sync stood a chance to win 40,000 rupees, a top-lining contract and a music video. There were also runner up prizes ranging from 20,000 rupees to top-lining contracts.
The goal of the contest was to promote independent artists and to give them a platform to showcase their talent. Also, to give artists opportunities that they wouldn’t otherwise get.
Even for the artists that didn’t win, they were able to create their own music and explore the limits of their musical journey. Hoopr was also able to acquire some amazing music to showcase on their platform.
